Winemaker’s Notes

Deep, dark ruby. Expressive bouquet with notes of red and black licorice, tea roses, aged leather, vanilla, and toasty oak. Massive mouthful of dense fruit. The elegant tannins and bright acidity give way to a medium body balanced with freshness, making this vintage of Estate Red wonderfully approachable. A stunningly long and full finish. 

 

Vintage Notes

The 2020 growing season was about as nice as it gets in the Walla Walla Valley, and the vintage was remarkable for its lack of extremes. Bud break began on April 20th and bloom started on June 12th which are both normal for Figgins Estate Vineyard. We tallied about 2900 heat units and had average to below average precipitation, which resulted in adequate yields across the vineyard. Harvest moved at a lovely pace starting on October 1 and finishing on October 21.
